LG Electronics launches first competition for Bulgarian lifestyle application for Android

LG Electronics Bulgaria launches a competition for lifestyle applications for Android mobile operating system. The company will encourage the ideas of Bulgarian developers together with the largest magazines publisher in the country – SBB Media. LG Lifestyle Apps contest is open for participation to 30 of June. First prize is 2000 BGN, and ranked top 3 participants will win LG smart phones. The prize for the winner is the first smartphone with dual-core processor LG Optimus 2X, the second prize is LG Optimus Black and third prize is stylish smartphone LG Optimus ME.

"We are very exited to see the participants applications”, commented Dimitar Valev, Manager "Sales, Marketing, Mobile communications" at LG Electronics Bulgaria. "Our goal is to inspire Bulgarian developers and enable them to show their skills. The topic, we have chosen, is consistent with our observations on consumer preferences – they are interested in funny and entertaining applications to diversify their everyday life. SBB Media Magazines perform this role in real world and it will be interesting to see how various creative ideas will be transferred to mobile interactive display.”

This is the first specialized event for Android-developers in Bulgaria in which all created applications must be connected with the audience of SBB Media brands (sites or magazines): ELLE, Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, Maximum, Bliasak, Story, Woman’s journal, Culinary Journal, Health Journal, My Child, National Geographic, National Geographic Kids, www.gotvetesmen.com, www.rozali.com,www.cosmopolitan.bg, www.moetodete.bg,www.bliasak.bg        or www.nationalgeographic.bg.

In LG Lifestyle Apps contest can participate all candidates, who are major and have the necessary skills, regardless of their education and work. To participate to the competition all candidates have to send e-mail with all personal details and contact information to: lgappcontest@lge.bg, together with short description of the application they are planning to create. After registration the participants will have time up to 30 of June, in order to create their application and publish it at Android Market. They have to mention that the application is created for the contest LG Lifestyle Apps.

Criteria for evaluation of applications include: usability, originality, relevance and ease of finding on Android Market with keywords „LG Electronics“, „SBB Media“ and „Bulgaria“. The jury will consist of the following representatives: Velina Dimitrova – Online project manager at Sanoma Bliasak Bulgaria, Deyan Dyankov – editor-in-chief at PixelMedia.bg, Momchil Karabulev – editor-in-chief at mobilebulgaria.com, Anton Belev – blogger and editor at hardwarebg.com, mobility.bg, Computer Bild Bulgaria, and Dimitar Valev – representing LG Electronics.
